Isolation of Endophytic Fungi from Algerian Plant Salicornia arabica and Screening of their Antimicrobial Activity

The present study was aimed at isolating endophytic fungi from the Algerian medicinal plant Salicornia arabica and analyzing its antifungal antibacterial effects. morphological analysis allowed us to identify endophyte isolates genus level as belonging 8 different genera, Aureobasidium sp., Ulocladium Acremonium Stemphylium Penicillium Aspergillus Phoma Chrysosporium sp. with frequency percentages 6.7%, 13.3%, 20%, respectively. antimicrobial activity caried out using agar plug diffusion method. three of were highly active against all tested bacteria except Enterococcus faecalis. Comparison means inhibition zones showed that fungal most active, followed by sp.1, .2, sp.2. widest 22.33 20.33mm for sp.3, 18.33 15.33mm 19.33mm 19 15mm sp.1 obtained Bacillus cereus Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, Regarding activity, best inhibitory 80 64.70% isolate sp.2 Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. ciccri albedinis, respectively, 63.29 58% observed Phytophthora infestans ciccri, These results indicated possible prospect endophytes isolated a promising resource compounds in quest potential starting points development new antibiotics.
